The Cumberland Community Action Aspire Food Pantry is a non-profit, volunteer organization dedicated to the distribution of food to those in temporary need. Support is provided by tax-deductible contributions made by private individuals, local businesses, churches, temples, schools, civic organizations, scout troops and grants.
The Cumberland Community Action ASPIRE Food Pantry is an organization of volunteers. We could not operate without them.
Our volunteers collect, pack food and distribute food to people in need. We sponsor
special events to raise money to purchase milk and food.
Participants are encouraged to make healthful food choices. Instead of simply providing
food, customers are educated in healthy dietary habits by a volunteer nutritionist
who conducts classes providing guidance in buying and cooking foods.
This is a two-fold program for both parents and children. The second component involves
providing health education and wellness for income eligible seniors.
ASPIRE Self-Sufficiency participants without job experience will receive soft skills training through our internship program. The Food Pantry will train unskilled participants for work in industrial safety and maintenance with subsequent placement in food processing plants.
